Strategy informed by
real operating experience.
A decade in medical aesthetics, built through the daily work of leading practices, supporting teams, and improving the patient experience.
Meet
Tyler Nelsen.
My experience in medical aesthetics has taught me that a strong practice is built through the details: how patients are welcomed, how teams communicate, how schedules move, and how leaders make decisions.
Over the past ten years, I have managed three medical spa practices across single-location, startup, and multi-location businesses. Each brought a different set of challenges—and a deeper understanding of what a practice needs to operate well.
My experience includes managing a multimillion-dollar budget for one practice and building a startup from a $2,000 beginning to its current multimillion-dollar annual production. Those experiences shaped a practical perspective on growth: the business must develop the systems, people, and financial discipline to support it.
The patient experience
is a business system.
Customer service, client management, and patient flow are central to my work. They connect the patient’s expectations with the practice’s ability to deliver a consistent, considered experience.
A missed handoff can affect trust. An unclear consultation can affect conversion. A poorly designed schedule can create pressure for both patients and providers. These are connected operating challenges that deserve more than isolated fixes.
My focus is on helping leaders understand those connections and build a more intentional way of working—from the first inquiry through treatment planning, follow-up, and the ongoing patient relationship.
Clear thinking.
Considered leadership.
Practical principles for building a business that supports its people, its patients, and its future.
Service is operational.
Exceptional service is supported by preparation, communication, and reliable processes. Build the conditions that allow your team to deliver it consistently.
Clarity supports accountability.
People do better work when expectations, responsibilities, and priorities are clear. Leadership should make success understandable and give teams the support to reach it.
The numbers need context.
Financial measures and KPIs are useful when they inform decisions. Understand the behaviors and processes behind the results before deciding what to change.
Implementation matters.
A recommendation only becomes valuable when it can be used. Good strategy respects budgets, time, team capacity, and the realities of a busy practice.
Growth needs a foundation.
New demand, services, or locations create more complexity. Strengthen the operating model so growth can be supported with intention.
Patient trust has long-term value.
Thoughtful client management focuses on relationships and consistency. The patient experience should support informed decisions and appropriate care.
A practical partner
for practice leaders.
I created Aesthetic Advisory Co. to bring business strategy and operational experience together for medical aesthetic practices. The work is grounded in the realities of running a practice: patients, employees, schedules, budgets, and competing priorities.
The goal is to help owners make more informed decisions, build useful systems, and lead stronger businesses—with attention to both performance and the people who make it possible.
Let’s build a practice
that works better.
